My sister used American Movers Group to move from Pennsylvania to Florida she was given a binding quote of $3995.00 based on weight. When the movers finally got there on Saturday in a rental truck she was charged an additional $2000.00 more because they charge by cubic foot not by weight and that the representative did not know their job. We tried calling AMG and all we got was their voice mail telling us to leave a message and that they will get back to us, they never did call back. It took the movers 3 hrs to fill the truck then told her they were taking her things to a storage facility 20 miles away when in fact it was 2 hrs away in New Jersey, then they called and said they won't be back tell 11:00 pm and that they will work all night to finish packing and on top of all that they wanted a 10% tip. On Monday I called and spoke to Eric and said there was an issue and he told me he will get in touch with the driver and call me back, never heard from him again. The representative said delivery would be on Dec 23 but the driver said not till Dec 27 my sister finally got her furniture on Jan 9 with items missing and broken. The driver wanted the remaining balance in cash and not the postal money order that was in the contract but since my sister already had the money order the driver wanted her to leave it blank she did not she made it out to AMG, then the driver refused to unload the rest of the furniture till she paid the remaining balance. Movers were very rude and unprofessional. DO NOT USE AMERICAN MOVERS GROUP they are very nice with you until there is a problem and then you never hear from them again.
