Mover drove in from Chicago IL. 5 HRS. AWAY to Ann Arbor, MI. "8 hours late" home and ARRIVED AT 4:30 PM and began to load after telling me I would be charged by cubic ft. not per LBS. like qouate. Also needed to charge me additionally to package some items or "no coverage for all of property IF damaged." Moving CO Indicated I needed to pay an additional amount of $800.
What can you say or do when you have to be out of the property by midnight and they are 8 hours late and show up at 4;30pm at night. They have you up against a wall t pay what ever they ask.
When I recieved my property in CA, it was not packaged in boxes, like they claimed, which was going to happen at their warehouse in Chicago.
They began to load my property at 4:30 PM & finised at 1AM ( it gets dark at 6PM. THEY LOADED IN THE DARK!!!! I have been trying to get in contact with someone in management at American Movers to justify addtional costs. "No one will give out any information about management".
I WAS SUPPOSE TO BE OUT BY MIDNIGHT, WHICH DIDN'T HAPPEN. DO YOU KNOW HOW TO FIGURE CUBIC FT IN A TRUCK IN THE DARK.
They did give me the phone number of the mover that did the move to complain too..duh! What good would that do, he was the problem THAT I WANTED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT!
DO NOT USE AMERICAN MOVERS GROUP. DO NOT USE A COMPANY THAT IS ONLY A CALL IN LOCATION COMPANY WHO THEN JOB OUT THE WORK AND DOES NOT KNOW OR CARE ABOUT YOUR MOVE...IT'S LET ME CHECK IN TO IT AND NOTHING HAPPENS.
ITEMS WERE DAMAGED THAT THE MOVER PACKAGED, "IF YOU WANT TO CALL IT THAT.... TAPED A PIECE OF CARDBOARD ON THE BLANKET.
AMERICAN MOVERS GROUP CUSTOMER SERVICE TELLS YOU THEY WILL CALL BACK AND DO NOT.
IT'S A "BAIT AND SWITCH"............. THE MOVERS ARE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS AND HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE COMPANY.
EVEN THE OWNER OF THE MOVING CO INDICATED "I SHOULD HAVE HAD SOME ONE COME TO THE HOUSE FIRST FOR PRICING". THAT IS WHY HE IS GOING TO CHARGE ME MORE. IT'S A SCAM AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED! IF YOU WANT TO CONTACT ME PHONE #760.296.3209
