We researched a dozen moving companies and went with AHM based on all the positive reviews. Ross, our customer service representative, was very helpful and informative giving us a great initial impression. We had quotes, lower than AHM but based on these reviews and initial commuication with customer service went with this company. HUGE disappointment!! Once items were in their possession, it became a highly frustrating and disappointing experience that to date really hasn't been resolved. Had anticipated waiting for furniture for a week or more, when Michael came to load on Sun July 8, he said truck was available and would be in VA Thurs at 10am. We had to be in DC by 10am Thurs or would be charged a $990 redelivery fee. Changed plans to visit family and made it from TX to VA by Wed afternoon. On Thursday, no one showed-no one called. We only found out truck was in shop after WE called numerous times. NEVER did they communicate anything with us - we had to call them to get information and some of that was conflicting. When items arrived over a week later, seven boxes were missing and the condition of the received articles was poor - even the driver Raphael commented how things were meessed up. He was kind enough to locate and return the remaining boxes - but they were in horrible shape, some with square holes cut by box knifes in sides as if someone was looking to see what the contents of the boxes were. Most of these box articles were broken or crushed. We have spoken with Rommie (one of the owners and dispatcher)who said he would look into the matter. We have called him now twice, left messages and he has not returned our calls. We have moved before and understand things get broken, are late, etc, but the amount of breakage, the condition of the boxes (including a garment metal rack bent into a 90 degree angle) suggests either the truck was in an accident (understandable, things happen) or negligence (inexcusable). But again, no communication so have to believe it is the latter. Interestingly, Michael, upon loading, had me fill out a comment card on the move. At that time, all was great. Am wondering if that may account for some of the higher ratings on this site. Sure wasn't, unfortunately, our experience at all! Writing this review in hopes someone else can be spared a similar disappointment and headache.
