Advice:
I admit that there were a couple of red flags I ignored because I was given promises and a good price so I thought...what's the worst that could happen... huge mistake.
INSIST ON A VISUAL INSPECTION
GET A QUOTE BASED ON WEIGHT, NOT VOLUME
GET A GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE (if time is a concern)
DO NOT USE ALPHA AND OMEGA
At practically every step of the process I realized I was lied to only to find out at the end...when they jacked up the bill and charged me OVER DOUBLE the initial estimate. Originally quoted at $1300, the final bill came out to $2900 AND several items arrived broken. My bookshelf was utterly destroyed and move than one container had been dropped / split open / and repacked by the movers, damaging the items inside. They then held my entire shipment for ransom, demanding payment IN CASH. Believe me, no one wants to go through this nightmare as I am still fighting legal battles with them.
One thing they will deceive you on is that THEY ARE A BROKER despite claiming not to be. The truck/company that delivered my items was owned by LOW COST MOVING and had no affiliation with Alpha and Omega. Look up their info with the DOT numbers and you'll see they only own 1 truck...yea right they handle much volume.
Another thing, the director of sales, Sasha Son Porte is a lying snake trying to underestimate the initial quote so you get charged a higher rate when they "re-adjust" on pickup. I gave a very accurate list of items with dimensions which Sasha personally edited and somehow the truck required 60% more space than anticipated. To be fair, I did add a couple of extra items, ~10% and I was expecting an additional charge but this was ridiculous.
Over the phone I was also told that there should be no problems hitting my "target" date (key word there, target). This date is not 100% set as was explained to me but I was also told that delays would be associated to things like major highway accidents or natural disasters. "Typically we deliver on the target date, rarely up to 3 days later". Well, their contract actually allows them 21 days from the "target" and they have no problems using it. After pickup, the delivery "target" came and went as my shipment was still in their holding center where it hadn't moved for over a week. They even admitted that shipments were coming and going but that mine hadn't been scheduled (their end) yet.
I only hope to warn anyone reading this of the deception and headache this company will cause you. I don't know where they got their good reviews from, but after my experience I am convinced they are all fake as my experience was absolutely terrible.
