Into each life a little rain must fall which means I'm writing one of the rare "wouldn't recommend" reviews.
Based on stellar reviews from other customers, I selected Alpha Omega to make my move from Oregon to California. The arrival time of the truck was within the established parameters and the men who arrived were professional and did a wonderful job of wrapping and loading the furniture being moved. Same on the receiving end - professional and again, a great job of unloading the furniture and setting up. I'm not sure about what happened between those two points which is where I believe the problem exists. About 25-35% of the boxes are obviously dmaaged - dented or somewhat crushed. One box had split open and was held together with packing tape; not exactly sure what happened but it appears as if the contents spilled out of the box and were just tossed back into the box and taped up. I have absolutely no idea how attachments to the carpet shampooer ended up with my pots and pans but I know for a fact they were not packed that way. It appears as if the boxes were simply dropped from an 8-10' height at some point. The result of the box that split open? I have a couple of quality pots and pans that are dented. A rolling wooden filing cabinet has two wheels that are completely broken off and I don't know if they can be repaired. I don't know why I bothered to get wardrobe boxes - of the 4, the clothes and hangers were a jumbled mess at the bottom of 2 of the boxes.
On the plus side, a treasured walnut hutch with bowed glass arrived unscathed
For all of you who had a wonderful experience, I am happy for you - a good moving experience helps set the tone for life in a new place. I have moved numerous times; am adept at the packing process and have had positive moves in the past. For the fees this company charges, I think I would have had better success with one of the more traditional moving companies.
