PICK-UP: A&O MOVING COMPANY IS THE BEST!
OMAR and ARTUR - Came to my house in L.A. this weekend to pick-up furniture and boxes for a move to Reno, Nevada. They were on-time, very respectful, carefully wrapped and handled everything, and did a quick job. Omar wrapped plastic wrap and furniture pads around each article of furniture. Omar had a sense of humor also. Since it was not a whole house move they arrived in a semi-long enclosed trailer towed by a big pick-up truck, not a huge moving semi. OK with me.
We had everything located in one room for them to make it simpler, with all non-furniture already packed in boxes as they requested. *I recommend writing your name and delivery destination on each box since I didn't see them label anything.
They said the locked trailer will be stored in their lot until they leave for delivery later this week.
I am hoping I can give a similar glowing report about the delivery, which I have requested for next weekend.
The booking process was more of a journey, calling and e-mailing multiple companies for quotes. I finally settled on "Alpha and Omega Movers" under the A&O Moving Company name. They quoted me a "flat rate" based on the list of items I e-mailed them and this is the rate on the contract. Although I was told beforehand to pay 50% at pick-up, using cash or credit card, Omar said I can pay it all on delivery (this was fine with me).
There was not a written contract before pick-up, the contract was signed at pick-up, to clarify to you how the process works. I selected them based on their Yelp reviews, their willingness to have the specific delivery date I requested, and the price (although they weren't the cheapest).
Addendum - A NO-HASSLE, NO-PROBLEM MOVE, COULDN'T BE BETTER!
-Omar, Artur, and Serg arrived as scheduled, on-time, to the Reno delivery destination a week later as I requested. Other companies wouldn't guarantee a specific delivery date but A&O Moving Company did. Everything was perfect - all inventory was accounted for, no damages, and they had their usual great customer service. Omar and Artur even managed to fit my long sofa bed through the small foyer of my new place - sorry it was such a tight fit- Omar took the door off its hinges to provide more room and Artur replaced them.
***HIRE THEM if you want a stress-free moving experience, they were worth very dollar $2,300. And please don't forget to give them a $$ tip + water, soda, and cookies for the long trip from L.A. to Reno. I will use this company again if I ever need to make another long-distance move. The moving crew (Omar, Artur, and Serg) are what made this a 5-STAR (the highest) rating. I hope they get a big $ raise, they deserve it.
Note: I am BBB freak, I have no relation to this company or any of their employees. I was skeptical and worried when I arranged the move but I am so glad I chose this company.
