Two Men And A Truck were hired to pack our household goods and move some to storage over a two day period. We were to drive our goods to CT where unpackers from the same company were scheduled to unpack our goods two days after our final pack-date. Arrived first day and an additional truck was needed to transport goods to storage. Truck was not needed for second day. Packers were scheduled to arrive at noon with no other jobs due on second day. Packers had not arrived by 1:30 and Two Men And A Truck was contacted. They informed us that they had since scheduled two additional jobs for our second pack date and that the movers would not be arriving for at least 2 to 2.5 hrs. Packers arrived at 4:00 and were instructed to demand that we pay an additional day for the move truck. Mike Golchuk, the on-call manager, was contacted. He stated that we had to pay for the truck even though we didn't need it. When we refused to pay for the truck, he instructed the packers to leave. We had to acquire last minute packers at a significant cost and missed several of our time points including hotel reservations. We contacted the home office of Two Men And A Truck in Lansing, MI, and were told that each franchise is individually owned and they could not and would not do anything to help us. We were stunned since this company advertises with the moto: "Movers Who Care." We found Two Men And A Truck not only unprofessional but also unethical in their highwayman tactics and completely unempathetic having totally stranded us mid-move.
