This is not the first time we moved with Allied, and the other time was just as bad. They must hire anybody off the street for the local work, because most of the guys looked homeless and were unprofessional. The packers did a bad job on most of the stuff. We didn't find out until we unpacked just how bad it was. We could tell they must have literally taken drawers of stuff and dumped the contents into boxes. They used our clothes for packing/padding. The people who broke things down (like beds) didn't keep all the parts together, and I had to go to the hardware store on the destination end for nuts and bolts and things. They didn't properly count the boxes and stuff on the destination end, and the numbers didn't match up. Stuff was missing, but we didn't know what it was, until months later. When we called, they played dumb. Lots of stuff was damaged. They send a rep out to the house to assess damage, who tells you how important you are, bu they never followed up. We never were able to get all of our stuff, and they did not compensate us properly. I could go on and on, but I think I've painted an ugly enough picture. Unfortunately, both times we moved, we did not have a choice of movers, because my company paid for it and they had a contract with moving company. After getting many complaints, like ours, from other employees that my company moved around the same time, my company dumped Allied. After that, we went with Northern for the next two moves (my company moves me a lot), and they were great, so I can recommend Northern; we had a good experience with them both times.
