NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY!
I was given a quote for an interstate move that turned out to be competitive with other companies. The weight and cubic feet was consistent with companies that came to my house for assessment, so I was comfortable choosing this company after reading online reviews.
I gave them a pickup date range and a delivery date range. I heard nothing from the company after I gave them my deposit, until they called me and asked if they could pick up my stuff early. I was mostly ready, so I said yes. When they showed up I was treated like I was stupid. The driver told me that my estimate was way off and whoever helped me didn't know what they were doing. He walked through the house with me and pointed out all the things that were entered incorrectly. They do not base their estimate on weight like every other company, they base it on cubic feet. Had I not been in a pinch to move, I would have and should have asked them to leave at that point. After loading most of my stuff I was told that the truck was full and it would cost me more money to move. My estimate was $3000, I paid $6000! After everything was packed up and I wrote a check for twice as much money and more than I could afford, the driver asked me for a tip! The only good news: he estimated that my stuff would arrive early in my delivery window.
My delivery window has now closed. The time I took off work to unpack is over and I still have no stuff! I called the company and they told me that my stuff is in storage and they have 28 days to deliver it. Why did they ask for a delivery window?
So I am in my new place with my young son with no furniture, minimal clothing, financially strapped and in a new state. Thank you, Cross Country/All USA movers for a truly horrible experience that I will relay to everyone I meet.
