This was one of the many moving companies that I called to get a quote on. They appealed to me because of the good reviews and they were local. I was moving from Houston, Texas to Ohio and they are stationed in Houston. Also the price was good. The guy told me it could take up to 21 days and I told him if it will take that long, I don't want to use this company because my wife is pregnant, i can't go that long without a bed and furniture. He said it won't take that long. Those are typically for cross country trips like if you were moving from Houston to Seattle. I said ok fine, lets do it.
This started to go bad when I was suppose to get a phone call a couple days before the pick up date to confirm everything. I didn't get the call until 5 pm the day before. Ok, no big deal. They picked up my things on Tuesday. They called on Wednesday to ask if they could deliver my things a day early on Monday which was a day early from the earliest move in day. I told them we wouldn't be back in Ohio until Friday night due to us driving back and we wouldn't be able to move into our apartment until Tuesday because Monday was holiday and nothing was open.
So we move into the apartment and on Tuesday I called to see if my things were in transit. The lady attempted to call the driver which she had me on hold for 10 minutes then told me that she couldn't get in contact with the drive and my things should be there sometime this week. Ok cool, I can chalk up a few more days of my 8 MONTH PREGNANT WIFE sleeping on an air mattress and myself sleeping on the floor. So, Friday comes around and still no movers. I call again and the lady then tells me my things haven't even been loaded onto the truck yet!!! Still being patient I said ok fine. So thie next week comes. Monday, nothing, Tuesday, nothing, Wednesday, finally get a call from the driver saying he will be able to bring my things Thursday night or Friday morning. I said I prefer Thursday night, I need to get my wife into a real bed.
Thursday rolls around, driver calls, I'll be there at around 830 at the latest, ok fine. Calls back again, ok I didn't realize their was a time difference between Indiana and Ohio, it'll be 930. Calls back again, ok sir it'll be a little later about 1030. Calls back again, ok I just got done with a drop off and it'll take me 4 hours to get there so I can do it at midnight tonight or come tomorrow morning at 7. My patience is pretty much gone, I had one nerve left and he was stomping on it really hard at this point. I said whatever, just bring it tomorrow morning. He said ok see you at 7am.
7 am rolls around, I get a phone call from the guy hey we are leaving the hotel and on our way. Ok cool. After a couple hours passed by, I realized the guy left the hotel in Indiana, not here in Ohio, he was still 4 hours away and wouldn't be here at 7 am like he said. It was a headache, shoulder ache, backache, hip ache, leg ache, every part on my body than has been sleeping on a hard floor for almost 3 weeks ache trying to get my own things from this company.
I would have preferred to pay $1400 for a Penske truck and haul everything myself. I would have been tired and worn out but at least I would have had my things. You want my advice, unless you have a bed to stay in, DIY! DIY! DIY!
