I hired All My Sons via the internet to move my household goods. They agreed to provide moving services by two movers at a rate of $89/hour. The movers were supposed to arrive between 7:30 and 9 am on Saturday. The actual time when the movers arrived was 1:20pm. The move was between two residences located 2 miles apart. Two movers arrived, one mover was working at an appropriate pace, the second one was performing very poorly (moving very slow, carrying very small things, taking frequent pauses). The entire move took more than 5.5 hours. The household goods included: one full-size bed, two chairs, and approximately 30 filled boxes. I had my small household moved several times before (back then it also included a dresser and a TV set), the previous moves had taken under 2 hours to complete. I complained to the dispatcher who later also reported himself as the company owner about the slowness while the movers were still working, but the pace of move has not improved. After the move has been completed, I was billed for over $500. I approaches the owner with a request to reduce the total of the bill noting that 5.5 house is an unusually long time for a move of a small household for 2 miles. The owner noted that the only thing he can offer is to waive a gas charge of $50 (note that the residences were located less than 2 miles away from each other) and refused to reconsider the total price given the overall very slow process. After long negotiations I reminded about the delay in arrival time by longer than 5 hours. The agreed to reduce the price somewhat, totaling $400, which translates to more than 4 hours for a job that had been done under 2 hours.
The overall quality was poor: numerous kitchen boxes were placed upside-down. Multiple boxes were placed in wrong rooms (e.g. kitchen boxes were in the study room and vise versa), several small item breakages happened.
