I had used All My Sons two other times for moves. Those had gone okay so I thought I would try them again. What a mistake! The sales office rep that estimated my move basically LIED in order to sell the job. We were moving from one apartment to the another building next door in the same complex. We had packed everything ourselves and moved as many items as possible on our own. The sales rep told us the move would take approx 3-4 hours (including drive time) with 2 men (at $99 per hour). Great....that is what we had done in the past and we were happy with it. The day before the move is scheduled this same idiot sales rep calls and tells us in order to get the job done timely they actually need 3 men (at $129 per hour). We discussed it and said fine...since it would help keep it to 3-4 hours we would do that. When the actual move occurred it wound up costing over $1000!!! To move next door!! 1) They took MORE than 4 hours (6 hours) to move XXXwith the 3 men they said they needed to make the move faster!; 2) They charged us for packing materials (that I didn't ask for since I had said I would cover things myself if it was extra XXXthe mover told me they wouldn't charge me since it was only a couple items and he would feel better covering them in paper rather than taking them down in a blanket); 3) They charged full fuel charge (even though they drove 100 feet) and that was on top of charging us 1 hour of drive time already XXXthe drive time was disclosed by the sales rep but the fuel charge was not and that came to over $100. I was LIED to. If they had been upfront and disclosed all the costs and hours ahead of time I wouldn't have felt this way. In summary that idiot sales rep basically alluded to the fact it would be around $500 initially then he came back the DAY before the move so I had no choice to use someone else and gave a new quote (which meant it would prob run $700)...and in reality it winds up being over $1000....TOTALLY ridiculous! What about someone who wouldn't have been able to afford almost double?? STAY AWAY! Even if you have had a good experience in the past don't trust it... they have obviously changed their staff and that staff lies to and cheats their customers.
