Bad insurance/ damaged goods

During a move from Virginia to Vermont, we had several pieces of furniture destroyed. The three movers that helped with the move were very nice and polite, however, some items were damaged during the delivery. I understand that some damage during a move is unavoidable, and most of the items damaged were old or inexpensive. One item damaged though was a brand new marble cheese tray (still in its original packaging with lots of styrofoam and cardboard all around it). This was a wedding gift from my wife's family and worth approx $200. Upon delivery there was a large gaping whole in the top of the box and the marble cheese tray was completely shattered!!! Obviously something very large was dropped right on top of it. We did not purchase additional insurance because the person who gave us the quote made it sound unnecessary, and the standard insurance would cover up to $5,000 or something like that. We filed a claim with the insurance company All My Son's uses called We Care Claims Management, INC. After nearly two months of relentless phone calls, sending photos, and getting things notarized We Care Claims Management refused to cover the damages because it was "not packed properly" by All My Sons. This tray could honestly not been packed any better! Still in its original box with styrofoam and bubble wrap. DO NOT USE this moving company solely due to the insurance company they use!!! if anything breaks they will not assume any liability!! Since the incident I have been looking around and there are many other posts just like mine. Don't use them!!!
