DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!!

This was my second time using a moving company; the first time was an out of state with Mayflower, which was exceptional. The second time was intra-city using All My Sons Movers of Las Vegas. Where to start with All My Sons? As one would expect all started out congenially enough. The gal who quoted us a rate was helpful and seemed informed. Moving rates are generally determined by number/type of rooms in a house, they don't normally come out and do a personal inspection. In our case we're kind of minimalist nuts (according to our friends). People who are new to our home have more than once joked if were moving (in or out). The truck was more or less on time, the two guys efficient enough. It wasn't until they arrived with my furnishings at the new house and before they started to unload that the scam began. First, they said it was time to settle accounts, that we need to pay up. Fine. However, the bill they presented us with was about double what was quoted. Naturally we told them that there was some sort of mistake and while I discussed it with the movers my wife got the dispatcher on the phone, the same gal who quoted us in the first place. The dispatchers stand was that the movers had informed her that we had more things than was otherwise anticipated for a house of our size - which we knew was absolutely nuts - sending my wife into a tizzy. While trying to argue the charges the dispatcher hung up on my wife. She called back and the dispatcher hung up again. At that moment one of the movers cell phones rang. He answered it, and while covering the receiver whispered, "It's the office." He listened for a moment and then again held his hand over the phone saying telling me that it would better if he could take the call outside, for us to wait here and that he was sure he could get it resolved to everyone’s satisfaction. About two minutes after they stepped out I heard the engine start and as I ran out into the street I was just in time to see the truck pulling away. I ran after them like an idiot but to no avail. Not five minutes later my wife's cell phone rang. It was some guy who identified himself as the office manager for All My Sons. He said that unless we paid the bill as is that could say goodbye to our belongings for the day. Furthermore, we would now have to pay 1) a storage fee because they guys would not be able to come back out today - keep in mind - they just drove off 5 minutes ago, and 2) there would also be a second delivery charge. Oh, and one more thing, the payment now had to be cash only. My wife went apoplectic! And with that he hung up. I dialed *69 and got Guido back on the phone. In speaking to him you could just visualize this dude sitting around in some dark, smoky office wearing a wife-beater and chomping on a cigar. I tried to hold a discussion with him but he interrupted re-stating the charges and reminding me that every day we didn't pay there would be additional storage fees. It was a hopeless situation. I just wanted my things and 'negotiated' to have the boys come back that afternoon in exchange for paying the storage and second delivery fee! Naturally, it took them about 4 hours to come back and this time with a new set of movers. What can I say; we got taken in a big way. All I can say is this: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE ALL MY SONS MOVERS. Read the other posts here and as you can see this is their standard operating procedure.
