I was quoted about $1900 for the move from Pa to IL. When they arrived about 2 hours past their time window, the asked to see what I was moving. I pointed out the pieces and the main guy then told me that since I had real furniture made out of real wood they would have to recalculate the estimate. The new estimate came in at over $8000!!! My inventory was pretty accurate and complete and they did not dispute that, they blamed it on my furniture not being 'newer' and cheaper stuff. I pity all of you with cardboard furniture!!! I suspect the main guy was a pretty honest fellow as he told me that "maybe I should just move it myself". I took his advice and had them go on their merry way to the next victim.
I am thankful that they did not charge me a deposit up front like I have read about by so many others!!!
