Worst move of my life

This was my 7th out-of-state move, and by far the worst experience I've ever had. I really liked Shane to begin with; he seemed nice, and was very responsive to emails and phone calls. It all started to go down hill the day of the move. I'll skip the full story, but the two things that caused the most stress were: the movers damaged the elevator when trying to move my couch, and my things were delivered to me a month later than I was originally told. If Shane had handled either situation differently, I would be giving a very different review.
They were not proactive about keeping me informed of my delivery date. If he had just told me what was happening, I'm sure I would have been frustrated after a few weeks, but it would have been so much better. Instead, they would give me a date, and then the day before or on that date, I would have to call and find out if my stuff was indeed being delivered. That happened for a month. At one point he told me "the truck is being gassed up right now". I had to call him each time the time frame didn't pan out - not once did they reach out to me to let me know my stuff was still in Florida. It was highly annoying.
Just this week, almost 7 weeks after they picked up my things, he finally told me how to file a claim for the damaged elevator. In the mean time I've been threatened with legal action by my old landlord who assumed I wasn't following up with the movers. The incident with the elevator was on video, and Shane insisted on seeing it. That's not unreasonable, but because the security system is old he had to go view the video at the condo building. Again, he told me each week he would do it, and then didn't. I got a call from Allie (the only time they reached out to me proactively) to let me know Shane would be going down there that week. That was over a month after my move. They didn't go. Then he let me know via text he was sorry and would not let another week go by without going down to talk to the condo association director. He still did not go see her or call her. All the sudden this week he doesn't need to see the video, and sent me a link to file a claim. This should have been done immediately after it happened, not almost 7 weeks later. If he had just taken responsibility, it would have just been something unfortunate that happened. Instead, I've spent the last 7 weeks stressing.
Incidentally, the elevator damage could have been easily avoided in the fist place. The two movers who showed up were having problems getting the couch in the elevator and asked me how it had gotten up to my condo in the first place. When I told them the elevator, they said they didn't believe me. I assured them that was the case but told them the feet were probably removed first. They laughed, said they had been doing this a long time and the feet wouldn't make much of a difference. Instead of moving it down the stairs (if they really didn't believe me), or removing the feet, they shoved it in and cracked the glass. I think they were just too lazy to take the plastic wrap off the couch to remove the feet. If they are so experienced, why were we even having a discussion about it. Just handle it!!!
Also, the couch cushions didn't make it on to the truck. Shane said a few weeks ago he would send them to me to via FEDEX. Honestly, I'm so sick of dealing with them I have zero desire to follow up on the cushions to find out where they are - not that I would believe what they told me.
