I hired World Wide Van Lines and Able Moving showed up at my door (they contracted the move out and I was unaware until the day of). The pick-up was on time and I was told the delivery would be in three days. On the third day (Thursday) I hadn't heard from Able Moving so I called them and they said they were a few states a way and wouldn't be arriving until Sunday. On Sunday no one called me, I tried calling every number I had for them and heard nothing. The entire next week was spent getting the runaround from World Wide Van Lines and Able Moving. No one knew where my things were or when/if they would be coming. We were yelled at and hung up on. One employee at World Wide Van Lines even set his phone on his desk and left it there until we hung up. Getting a hold of Able Moving was worse. Every number we called for them went straight to voicemail and said 'this voicemail box is full'. The day before Memorial day at 9pm I get a call from Able moving that they would be arriving the next morning and I would owe $300 more than I was told in the beginning. I didn't want to pay until I saw my things but they wouldn't even unlock the truck to let me look at my stuff until I handed them the cash. If I didn't hand them the cash they were going to take my things to a warehouse and store them at my expense even though they broke the contract by not providing a weight report and because it was a holiday their boss was out of the office and 'unavailable'. I requested a weight report before my things were even picked up in the beginning and had never received it. My total price went up and they didn't even have proof that this was accurate. We weighed each box and furniture item as it came off the truck. After calculating my rate/lb we discovered that they doubled the weight of my belongings. This just happened yesterday so we are still deciding what action to take.
