AVL Moving Company deserves my review. I've never hired movers before; my laziness has always been outweighed by my brokenness.
However, my boyfriend moved last week and after scouring reviews and websites he picked this place. Getting an estimate was easy, just send an e-mail and within the day he received his estimate which was lower than we expected, but the company policy is to highball it so there are no surprises come moving day. I helped him prepare the day of, and it was INCREDIBLY stressful for him. The movers, Ben, Sal, and Daniel called to say they could come a little early and even though we probably should have kept it at the original time, we had them come. They arrived promptly, and were completely understanding and able to work around us while we took care of some last minute stuff. They were patient and understanding with our lack of preparation. They were also light and fun, while still being careful and professional. It helped lighten up the mood. Moving is NEVER easy, and I've always gotten the impression that movers are a hassle to work with. Not this trio, they are amazing. They even sat outside in the snow while my boyfriends landlords decided to bombard him with some last minute bs. They packed the truck quickly, arrived to the new destination promptly, and unpacked the truck swiftly yet carefully. Don't let "swiftly" imply that it was disorganized and clumsy either - they were careful to put items in the rooms we asked them to, AND they even offered to help put the bed back together before they left. When it came time to pay, the total cost was near 100 dollars less than quoted despite them having to wait on our slow asses.
Not only would I definitely hire them again, I'm moving myself next month and have already submitted my estimate and requested Ben, Sal and Daniel to do the job. I can't imagine working with anybody else.
I highly recommend these guys and these 3 guys specifically. If they aren't available, I imagine if any other employees of this company carry themselves half as well as these 3 guys you'll still have a terrific stress free moving experience.
