I set up everything for my move from Baton Rouge to the Dallas area with Stephanie from AIS dependable movers. They were supposed to move my things on a Saturday, but then they called and said they would be there on the Thursday before. I told them to make sure to come after 5:00 because I would be at work until then. At around 4:30, I get a call from the driver saying he's at my apartment. He could barely speak English, and it was obvious he didn't actually know where my apartment was. I told them not to leave and that I would be there in a few minutes (I lived less than 5 minutes from my work). So I get there, and there's no one at the apartment. I tried calling the driver back and the company back numerous times that same day and in the days that followed, but they never returned my calls. I wasn't able to get in touch with them again until about a week later after I had already made other arrangements to get my things moved. I called to try and get my deposit back since I gave them over $400 for nothing, and they told me it would take up to 30 days to process the refund. That was at the beginning of September. I have since tried calling numerous times and emailing numerous times, and no one will return my phone calls. I may as well have lit a match under $400 for all of the good it did me. They are thieves and will do anything to weasel money out of customers. I spoke with both Sandra and Stephanie about the refund and was told by both of them to give it 30 days. Thankfully I have in writing where I requested a refund (I did it both by phone and email), and I also have Stephanie's response to it in writing. I will be contacting a lawyer. No where in the contract that I signed does it state that they can take my deposit to provide absolutely no services.
