I used A One Moving and Storage to move my dining room set and boxes from NY to CA. They gave me an estimate of 4K. When the actual time came to move they then said that the real cost was WAY above the estimate (7K) There were also hidden costs in blankets, boxes, etc. (which they NEVER mentioned in all the previous phone calls and paperwork). During the move out of our NY house they scratched the floors and dented the walls, and denied they had done anything. The truck arrived in CA a day earlier than we had agreed upon (we had arrived on a flight four hours earlier) and they demanded we take delivery (the truck was parked outside our house and the driver was yelling at us at 8am!) and pay in cash (again something that was not mentioned previously). We obviously did not have the cash nor means to get any since we had no vehicle or knowledge or the area. After working out that issue, the boxes and dining room set were delivered damaged. The contract states that the payment is .60 per pound per article. We notified the company via the driver and email. The company denied ever receiving any notification. We filed many forms repeatedly. After nine months, at least one email and phone call a month to Jerry, Marsha and Mike, I am still trying to get payment for the damaged items. To date they have not attempted to weigh the articles. They have offered a sum of $100 for a vintage, solid wood dining room table, eight chairs, buffet and over-sized china cabinet, plus six boxes that were damaged, which would mean the entire lot weighs approximately 175 pounds! According to a few websites, the furniture alone weighs conservatively closer to 1500 pounds!
Do yourself a favor and save yourself time and aggravation - don't use this company!
