My husband and I are looking to relocate in August and had reached out to several moving companies to start the process. I am currently just in the research process but plan on reserving our moving company in the beginning on June. We were seriously considering Silver Van Lines due to the quote, however, I was turned off by their customer service.
I had started to receive several calls from the companies to follow up (which is great). So I responded back to each one letting them know of when I will be getting in contact with them. However, I noticed that I had received several calls from one company in particular... Silver Van Lines.
When does any one person need that many calls from a company? They're worse than telemarketers. This morning alone I received five missed calls from two different phone numbers all of which included voicemails from... Robert from Silver Van Lines! Starting from 8am with the last call finally at noon, which is when I decided to just call them instead.
I spoke with Robert and then his supervisor. Not only was Robert lacking in the customer service but it was clear where his horrible training came from. His manager, turns out, lacked the people skills it takes to work with people. Throughout the conversation she could have easily turned it from a bad experience to better, however, she was defensive, unprofessional and quite frankly rude.
If this is the service you receive up front I question the kind of service they continue with throughout the entire moving process. Moving can be stressful enough without having to worry about an unruly vendor.
