DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you don't want a headache! I am not just an angry customer. It was been 2 weeks after our move and here is a detailed account of what happened...
STI Movers picked up our shipment for our long distance move on Thursday, June 16th. This arrangement had been made by my husband, with their employee Steve. The movers were professional and amount agreed upon. A delivery contract was signed giving a delivery spread of 1-7 business days from Friday 6/17. Steve was contacted the next day and gave the same information, 1-7 business days. Steve was contacted again on Wed 6/22 about the delivery date. Steve informed Eric that the moving truck would be leaving the facilities in Skokie on the next day, Thursday, 6/23 and would be arriving Saturday 6/25 or Sunday 6/26 and that we would be receiving a call from the driver with a 24 hour notice. No call or delivery was received that weekend. STI was contacted at 10:45am Monday 6/27 to inquire why our shipment was not delivered. We were told by Beverly, a manager, that Steve was on vacation and she would look into our situation with David, who was in a meeting. After 2 hours, we received a call from Beverly stating that our shipment was still there and had never left the facility. She would need to speak to David, the long distance moving manager, and call us back, again. I contacted Beverly at 1:00 when no response was received. I was told she was on the other line and she would call me back. She called back at 1:30. Beverly was short tempered and unknowledgeable. She claimed she did not know why the truck had never left. She had no idea why Steve had given us the prior information. She was unwilling to talk about compensation. She was unwilling to explain the process to me as she had “just explained it to my husband not 45 minutes ago.” She insisted that David would be able to tell us information, and that he was still in a meeting. At 3:00, David & Beverly contacted my husband that the truck would be leaving the next day, and arrive by Friday or Saturday 6/24 or 6/25, 4-5 days after the delivery spread. The owner of the company, Sasha Cincar, was contacted by email on 6/27, detailing the above account. A reply was never received. I contacted Beverly on 6/28 to confirm the truck had left. She was unavailable and returned by call an hour later. She was short with me, again, but confirmed the truck had left. My husband contacted him by phone on 6/30. He was very rude and was quoted as saying… “We have your stuff, what are you going to do about it?” “This is the nature of this business. You don’t know, this is just how it works” We were told that the $25 a day was the “going rate” and when asked why his employee Steve had lied to us, he said he would look into it but there was nothing he could do. Our shipment arrived on Friday 7/1 (15 days after pick up). Again, the actual movers were nice, professional, and careful. . We were lied to by Steve. We were given the run around by the manager Beverly & David. Every time the office was contacted, the employee was “busy,” “in a meeting,” or “on the other line,” and did not return calls in a timely manner. The staff is unknowledge and could not answer a simple question as to why the truck with our shipment had never left. The owner of the company was insulting and unwilling to offer us any compensation. We would only be compensated $25 for each day after the delivery spread time, as was signed upon in the contract, which in fact, we did not. It's a shame that the laborers of this company have more knowledge and class then the people in the office. They still owe us money that was overpaid which we will probably never see.
