Following my retirement, we decided to move from Salinas to Concord to be closer to family. We needed to downsize from four bedrooms to two bedrooms and plan the move.
Quotes were obtained from three "name brand" moving companies and they ranged from $2500 to $3200 for a hundred mile move of enough household items to fill a 1,000 square foot townhouse and a small storage space.
Being a little shocked by the quotes, we called a local company located in Santa Cruz, Lambert & Son Moving. Bill Lambert arrived the next day and gave us a quote of $1,100.
We were a little apprehensive about the big difference in prices but Bill's knowledge and sincerity gave us the confidence to use his company for the move.
Everything from the delivery of supplies to the pickup and delivery on move day were exactly on time. All of the members of the crew were courteous, friendly and very helpful.
Having moved five previous times using larger moving companies, I have to say the experience with a local mover was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend Lambert & Son Moving.
