Moved on Jan 2nd, 2014. The movers were over 3 hours late, had the wrong size truck, had wrong paperwork, not enough movers, and couldn't fit everything on the truck. When we finally got to the destination, at the storage unit, found that my big expensive mirror got broken. So crew called Estella, the owner and told her they broker the mirror. Estella told her crew to stop unloading the truck and not to continue until I paid in full. And that she wasn't liable for any damages. Then left me a voicemail threatening me, ordering me to pay in full, and that she would take me to court. They were to reload up all my belongings and I would be responsible for storage fees, extra work time, and so on. So I called the police. Officer came out and talked to Estella on the phone. The officer told her that it was unlawful to hold my goods hostage until I paid in full. It was theft of property and that if she didn't tell her crew to finish unloading, he was going to arrest her crew. She then told the officer that she had been doing this for along time and that he didn't know what the law was. That pissed the officer off, so he took down all her company information and wrote up an incident report on her for future reference when I file a claim against the company. The officer even told her that I didn't even have to pay in full for 10 days and she still screamed at the officer. And she threatened to fire her crew if they didn't do what she said - despite the officer'w warning that she was being unlawful. Very unprofessional, and dishonest company.
Well, they did finish, finally. This move took 13 1/2 hours to complete. I was exhausted!
I also filed a complaint with Texas Dept. of transportation against this company.
Their contract even had the rate at $800 flat rate - but I was honest and said that the estimate was at $1,350 and that's what I paid - despite a complete day of nothing but trouble and having to call police.
Beware of this company! Be very aware!
