I had several quotes, Guardian's was the lowest, but when the other moving companies told me there was no way they could do it for that price I called back. I was assured that the price that I was given was correct and even though I had a 5 sectional and not a 3, the salesman added stuff to accommodate. When they got there they refused to load the truck because they said it was going to be extra, I asked "How much?" They didn't know. I said well put it in the truck and see how much, they refused, they asked me to sign a paper saying I would pay whatever they said at the end. I did not sign it. I called Guardian and they told me just let them fill up the 540 cf and then call them back and they will tell me what to do. I called back at least 10 times. Everyone seemed like they were in shock and said someone would call me back immediately. No one did. We had to leave several things behind so when the truck driver asked us if they could deliver on March 28th we were panicked. We said ok that will be when we will be down there but I told him the 4 or 5 days was fine. I had called Guardian earlier to switch my move date from March 30 to earlier because my closing was pushed up to March 11th. I said your contract says 21 days so I can move it up to the 14th. She told me "NO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, SOUTH CAROLINA IS ONLY 4 TO 5 DAYS!" So I set the pick up for March 25, expecting delivery on March 30 or 31. I inquired several times and finally got an email back saying, "YOUR STUFF HASN'T EVEN BEEN LOADED YET! IT'S 21 DAYS" Just for kicks I called again and used my husband's name, and again I got the same quote and a 4 to 5 day delivery. I told Rich that he couldn't do that, he assured me that he could. So then I told him what already happened. In the middle of my sentence he told me this is a job for customer service. Customer service told me she doesn't know who the movers are who these people are and why they lied to me and then promptly hung up. I STILL DO NOT HAVE ANY FURNITURE.
