I asked if they contracted out the job to movers or if they are a moving company. I was told a moving company. Howard and Andrew and KAT XXXthe three people my information got shuffled around to neglected to mention that they ALSO contract jobs out. My original estimate was for $1472.57. Howard said that he estimated high and that I was also being given a discount. Because apparently Howard had no idea how to do an estimate I got a second one from the company, a “Binding Moving Estimate” of $2779.68. But I couldn’t get out of the move because I had already paid nearly $1000. I thought I would be better to continue with this company rather than lose the money. Big MISTAKE, they were late in the delivery, damaged my belonging, and lost my property. I was finally flayed for $3200 for a move through First Call Movers that was jobbed out to Unique VanLines. The movers said that the estimate was low and didn't acknowledge my estimates. The customer service was difficult to contact at both First Call Movers and Unique VanLines and Karin at Unique VanLines was defensive and accusatory. Overall it was a terrible experience.
