I chose Emerald for my move from WA to OK as they were a location company, with the cheapest moving quote, and told me they didn't subcontract out to others. By far, this has been the worst and most unprofessional moving company experience I've had so far. Two reps that worked with me on my move were no longer working with the company by the time I moved, making handling problems during/after the move difficult. In-spite of only having 3/4 of the number of boxes and items in quote actually moved by the company, their original price quote of square footage was under-estimated (I got to pay more; the person leading the actual pickup was non-chalant about this, and said it is common that the actual square footage was underestimated). The reps also didn't tell me ahead of time about a 2nd story stair fee that I ended up paying. My goods arrived on the last day of a 14-day delivery window...including some dishes which got broken...except for a suitcase which was "lost" (mis-delivered to another city. After Emerald Relocation found the suitcase, they tried to UPS the suitcase to me in a very stinky box, but mislabeled the address so UPS couldn't deliver it (in-spite of me catching this mistake before they shipped it; calling them to tell them to make a change; and then having them ignore that) ... so I got to spend $20 in gas money driving to pick up this suitcase. Oh XXXand the final delivery was in fact sub-contracted out XXXthanks for the honesty Emerald!
This was by far the worst moving company experience I have used - there is no way I would use them again or recommend their services.
