You think you can do all the research to pick the best company to protect your things during a move and it hurts when the research turns out to be so very wrong. Our family heard all the horror stories about bad movers and we really did not want to be one of those stories. My family moved from California to Ohio and did quite a bit of research to pick the right mover. After much due diligence, Camelot Movers seemed like the right choice for us. They claim to be “a family owned company”, “with their own employees” and “they take great care of your stuff”. At least that is what the owner told us when he came out to quote our move. I believed it, but boy was I wrong. We paid a large sum of money (over 15k) to have our home goods moved. We were appalled to see that, by the time our items got to Ohio, that most of our furniture pieces were damaged. We had only been in our previous location for two years before the move and purchased most of the furniture new to go in that house. Our furniture was quality, but it would be hard to call it such any more as most of it is damaged. Camelot dented our very nice stainless steel refrigerator, completely destroyed a nice bookcase with a crack going all the way through the bottom, Sharpie on my new light grey couch and they claimed no responsibility for it, cracked our master bed frame, destroyed collectors items doll boxes we asked them to take special care with which they also claimed no responsibility for, damaged my grandmother’s sewing machine cabinet that I said was the most important thing in the house to me, and the list goes on. Many of our tables and another bookcase looked like they were dragging them around. We even bought extra insurance for the move and after wasting over three months for their claims department to respond to our claims, they gave us a laughable amount to “fix” our furniture. It was so low I won't even print it. Needless to say, I am so disappointed with their company and we hope this review makes others think twice before using them. They sell you a good story in the beginning, but it just isn’t true. Buyer beware!
