My wife and I have been customers of C. Coakley/Arpin Relocation Services since 2001 when we moved to a new location and placed in storage certain household items not needed in the new location. We paid monthly to house the items in what was represented to be a “climate-controlled” warehouse. Eleven years at $960 per year.
On June 20th of this year, we engaged your firm again for a local move. Your representative estimated the total cost of the move including the items from storage at $875.00 (copy of estimate included). At the conclusion of the move on the 20th, I was presented with a bill of $1,809.50. You can imagine my amazement at this amount! I am not disputing the actual cost of the move from one place to another and the monthly storage charges for May and June; rather, the cost of $486.25 for loading on 6/19 the items in storage. This cost was never mentioned by your representative.
Your three young men who performed the move were courteous and thorough. I gave each a tip for their fine performance.
Upon close examination of twin beds that had been in storage the next day, mold was found. This should not have happened in a climate controlled warehouse. You might want to explore how this happened.
In summary, the move by the three young men went well and did exceed the estimated time-no problem with this. However, I respectively request you send me a refund for the loading cost of $456.25 as this was not part of the estimate or verbal agreement. I await your reply.
