Horrible moving experience w/ AVL

American Van Lines is the worst company I have ever dealt with, along any lines moving or not. We had a quote from another company and AVL said they could beat it, well to do so they would not put an accurate account of what we would be moving, so we found out later. The stuff they said we had was nothing of what we told them(I have and never will own a wicker couch)! All of this was discovered when the movers finally did show up two days late. We called the company when they didn't show up when we were expecting them. We got the run around, your job is a small one, we forgot, the mover had an emergency, things happen, everything but the truth. Two days later when they showed up the move was "understanding"...If you give me cash when I show up for a little over the amount seeing how our stuff weighed double because the made up list, he would have no problem giving us our stuff then. Well when he showed up two weeks later it was a whole different story. He could charge us double and we now owe him 1600.00. We finally came to an agreement so he would take the stuff off the truck and not put it into storage, we could give him a personal check written to him personally for 400.00 and we would call it even! He would cash it when we tell him! So on top of giving him $200 over in cash I now have to write him a personal check to get my stuff. What a load of crap American Van Lines is and I would advice everyone not to use them. There is so much to this story and not enough space or time to write what a horrible experience it was dealing with American Van Lines!
