I am convinced that 99% of the reviews on this site have been posted by imposters who work for R & C. Our experience with them was absolutely terrible. They grossly underquoted us. We accurately described all household goods and were still given a really low quote (around $3,000 for a move from CA to IL). They were very convincing and kind because despite their much lower price, we trusted them. However, once they got the job, that's where the niceities ended. When it came time to deliver our house, they told us the actual price was going to be nearly $10,000. WHAT?!?!??!?!?! There was nothing we could do but pay them because they would not deliver the goods until we were paid in full. I had just had a baby and my husband was due to start a new job, so we had no choice but to pay the outlandish price and move on.
When they actually arrived to deliver our goods, it was just the driver, and he picked up someone to pay by the hour while he was driving through town. This man was useless- 400+ pounds and worthless. My husband wound up unloading most of the stuff just to get it over with. Also, the idiots delivered our truck out of order. Because of this, another family's stuff was at the back of the truck, and our's was in the middle. They unloaded all of our stuff through a tiny side door, and had to climb all over our boxes and household goods. This resulted in multiple damages, including irreparably damaging our washer and dryer. They told us just to file it on insurance and it would get paid for. Shame on us for not reading the fine print, because we were actually supposed to make them wait while we inspected every item in our house for damage. We recevied no insurance compensation for the multiple damaged items because we did not inspect things while the rude and obtrusive movers were still there. They're sneaky jerks. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you want to keep your money and your stuff in tact.
