First of all if you already made up your mind to use PublicMovers service Please stop reading this review.
I did a mistake of reading a review {http://www.mymovingreviews.com/movingreviews/do-not-use-this-company-7747} from previous user who insisted not to take their service but i did not beleive it and thought how bad it would be and used Public movers to move my stuf.
BELEIVE me it is a horrible expericence. All the 5 star reviews should be from the movers.
They seems professional until you send them your credit card details and load your stuff in the TRUCK.
Once they Load your stuff in their truck then it's their rule, You Obey them and pay what they ask or you will lose money.
Here is my Situation
Part1:
1. I was given a quote of 850 for moving stuff from Jacksonville, FL to LongIsland, NY. I was happy that i got a good deal and i gave 10% as advance over the phone thru Credit card.
2. Then the truck arrived a day early and they get you signed in a couple of places with out giving out much information and pushing me saying that they are in a rush.Since i was already packed my stuff i did not mind their early arrival.
3. They move all my stuff into the truck and they ask $350 more for Packing your stuff and claiming it occupy more cubic feet.{They say the estimate includes all packing and Loading and all charges which is a lie.}
4. So i got pissed off and ask them to Unload it and F Off. They said they are charging $250 as labour to put the stuff back. What could i do...i had a big fight and paid them the $350 thinking the nightmare is over.
Part 2:
5. Called them to deliver my stuff to my new address and the shipment came in a week.
6. The Driver comes and ask for the remaining amount and once you pay them they will demand delivery/labour charges for $225, If you are not paying him, he threten to leave the premisis with your stuff.
7. So i called the Public movers to question the charge, they abruptly cut the call and after that point you can not get through to the person{LIZ} you used to speak so far. Either she{LIZ} is busy assiting another customer or some new person will come on the call and say she is from another dept and she can not help with the devicery issue.
8. So i pay that amount to get my stuff only to find that they only had half my stuff and the other half is Missing/Stolen. While i was on the phone trying to reach Public Movers to sort this issue the Driver drove off with no warning.
9. I am trying to call public movers and the delivery driver about it and i am yet to reach them.
I have paid 850 + 350 + 225 => 1425 total and the estimate they gave me was $850 inclusive of everything.
Imagine how you would feel after going through a service like this.
AVOID USING PUBLIC MOVERS or ANY ONLINE MOVERS
AVOID USING PUBLIC MOVERS or ANY ONLINE MOVERS
Infact Avoid any movers online instead try to get in some moving company in your local place and may be pay a little more and get a peace of mind.
Best thing would be to get rid of you stuff as much as possible when you move. It's not worth it.
