My husband is in the military and was being transferred from WV to a base in Louisiana, the Army paid Mayflower out of Virginia to move us. The woman who contacted me told me I had to work around HER schedule with my move and was hateful with me until I informed her I'd have the Army use someone else to move us on OUR time since we were operating on the Army's schedule not hers. She never sent anyone to do a walk through, instead she did it over the phone which was not a correct way to surmise how many items/pounds we had to move. I never heard from her again, I had to call the day before we were scheduled to leave for our new base to find out the movers were coming the next day. She sent three packers to our house to do a two day job in less than a day, not telling them we had a three story house to pack up. Then she sent the driver to the wrong address, he had to call us to find out where to bring his truck and did not know he needed a driver for a smaller "shuttle" truck since our items had to be shuttled from our home to his truck due to our driveway not being passable via a semi. Not only did these guys show up without the proper equipment to pack us with thanks to her, but they stole several items and broke many many more. Because of their being mislead by the woman in their office, my husband nearly missed our daughter's high school graduation because they were not finished in time for him to get there. On top of that, they stole multiple boxes of Girl Scout cookies from our freezer, a 50 pound bag of dog food that was unopened out of our shed, and now, after getting settled in here in Louisiana, we found that they also stole all of our Christmas tree decorations and our NFL items. The Christmas items were things the kids had made for me over the years and a few NFL and NHL ornaments. WHO DOES THAT??? My kids and I were crushed to find our items that meant so much to us were just gone. We got no restitution for the broken or stolen items (including the shattered glass on my 7 ft tall curio cabinet) and no apologies for anything. We will NEVER allow the Army to hire Mayflower to move us again. NEVER.
