Started out with a very solid quote of $2200, comparable if not better than the other competition. I gave them a list of what we had for a quick inventory price, still the same. Told me that price might increase due to weight, which is understandable. After they came to load furniture into their truck they told me about the length of furniture I have, and it was going to cost $3000 more. Since I was moving the next day there was nothing I could do but go along with it. It was no longer a weight issue it was the amount of space it took up in truck, which was never discussed with me.
When it came to bringing it to a storage facility (due to the increase in price of storage) I made sure that a semi trailer could fit into the facility by asking the people working. I was assured that they have had all kinds of semis in their facility. So when they show up with a 72 foot truck, the driver said that he is not "comfortable" driving this into storage facility. After contacting Elite via telephone, they tell me that "if the driver does not want to drive it in then he does not have to drive it in." So one option they told me was that I can rent a Uhaul and fork over another $1400 they will take it from the side of the street they parked at to the facility. I did not go along with this, which there were no unnecessary hurdles that the driver had to overcome. So I had to find another facility down the road (I made sure that even he could drive the truck down there). This new facility is $100/month more than the other facility I had previously rented.
Why would they bring a 72 foot truck to residential areas, when they know it will never go? Do the driver and mover take this shuttle charger for themselves? Why does the driver have the right to hold your furniture and the company back them up when the driver never even attempted to drive into facility?
This a scam, once they have your belongings they have you by your b@lls!!!!
STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!!!!
