My fiance and I were inheriting a few big pieces of furniture from our family friends who live down the street. In true New York twenty-something fashion, we thought "we can get this stuff two blocks!" We were wrong, which we fortunately realized before things went from bad to worse.
I was very nervous about hiring movers for just a few pieces that needed to go (literally) two blocks - and I did receive a few quotes that were $900+. No way! Enter Man With A Van, who had a super reasonable hourly rate that we were very comfortable paying. Not only were they quick to respond to email and get us our COIs, they were very accommodating when we needed to do a last-minute switch of the date.
Our two guys arrived right at the very beginning of our arrival window and were SO QUICK and efficient. They literally ran between moving pieces of furniture so that they wouldn't run up the clock. They were awesome, and so responsible! At the drop off location they were careful to place the pieces exactly where I wanted them and the whole thing was done in under 90 minutes.
10/10, would do again. And I'd definitely say that they are the go-to movers in NYC for a small job.
