This company promised to deliver our furniture within 4-10 business days at the maximum on our agreement. This company showed up at our old house on a Sunday with a truck that was too small to pick up our furniture (plus they had someone else’s stuff on the truck. They said they would come back the next day to pick up the remainder, but turned out they didn't until Wednesday. Per our agreement they were supposed to call 24 hours in advance for deliver (since we do not live at the new house) and to give us our balance. After numerous calls that week, on 5/11 they finally gave a date of 5/13 or 5/14. They did not call all day on 5/12, so we assumed they would deliver until 5/14 because of the agreement they would give us 24 hours notice. At night, after my cell phone was shut off the driver left a message on my cell at 9:01 p.m. on 5/12 telling me the balance to deliver my furniture but did not state when he was coming or did not leave phone #. On Mother's Day morning (Sunday) I received a call from the driver stating he was 30 minutes from our house. I told him that I could not get the cash or money order due to it being Sunday. He said he would call his Company and call me back. My husband and daughter took off for the new house. When the driver showed up my husband asked him why they didn't call until 9 p.m., the driver replied that he did not find out what our balance was until that night and that is when he called us. I received a call from "dispatch" stating that they would not accept credit card or company checks and that the driver had another delivery and would not want to come back. There were no banks open on Sunday, so they refused to deliver. The driver called at 1 p.m. and stated that he could probably deliver the next morning and we set up the time for 9:30 a.m. since my bank opens at 9:00 a.m. He then called back and stated that it would be an additional $400 for the overnight stay. I told him that we were not going to pay over their mistake and he said if we did not pay, they would have to take our furniture back to Chicago. We tried several times to reach the company directly (dispatch) and they did not answer or would not return our calls. On Monday morning they said I would have to wait for the driver to get back to Chicago with our stuff. They said they would redeliver in 3 or 4 days. I again told them we need 24 hours notice. The driver called on 5/16 around 9:15 a.m. & said he was 8 hours away from Atlanta and if it was too late for him to Deliver when he got there, he could deliver in the Morning. I told me to call him when he got close and I would let him know. He called at 5pm and said he would be there around 7or8pm I told him it would be too late to deliver since we have Children and don't live at the house. He said he HAD to deliver that night or we wouldn't get our stuff. The Company called me and stated we HAD to take delivery but guaranteed the driver would be there by 7p.m. The driver did not show up. When we called he said it would be at least 8:30pm before he could be there and it would take at least 4 hours to unload. We could not wait that late since we have Children. The next day the company said we "refused" delivery and took our stuff back to Chicago. They told us that we would have to pay an additional $2500 on top of what we owed (by wire) before they would reschedule delivery. I sent them a letter demanding our furniture and that they were holding our furniture "hostage". They sent a letter demanding an additional $1200 this time before they would schedule a delivery. We ended up paying the additional $1200. When they delivered it took them 6-1/2 hours to unload, they didn't put everything back together which was in our agreement and there were missing bed rails, almost EVERYTHING had something broke or chipped off, chairs ripped....curio cabinet completely broke! The drivers told us the guy at the warehouse said they had to move it several times so it was ok if it was broke.
We should receive our money back in full, reimbursement for our rental furniture we had to rent another month, moving fee for moving our rental furniture into our house, damages for waiting 37 days PAST the 10 business days they were allowed per our contract to deliver our furniture. Plus damages for broken and missing items. Our chairs and recliners had huge rips, curio cabinet glass was completely shattered, missing bed rails, brand new washer & dryer dented, dressers busted, Disney bed rails bent, majority of wrap around desk completely destroyed, big screen TV chipped at bottom front...to mention a few things. We intend on suing this company.
