We use Upack for a lot of our moves. We do the loading and unloading part of the "portable storage moving". You know, the "labor", so we talk to a lot of people on a regular basis concerning their move. We are on location for usually 2 hours with each customer - so we hear stories.
All of them have horror stories, all types of moves do. But in all honesty, ABF UPack is probably one of the better balanced companies when it comes to moving long distance. I deal with 2-3 long distance moves a day. There is always some wrong!
The whole overall tone we get from customers is that UPack delivers - other load it. Things get damaged in transit? Perhaps the blame goes on the hands that loaded it. Rental truck customers have to learn the same thing.
You can rent movers to load it nationwide from thsi site called Moving Help Center - it cost $100 for 2 movers to load a portable storage unit. Also, you can get $75 OFF ABF UPack through Moving Help Center through their affiliation program.
In short, they cut discounts for people referred by Moving Help Center.
We see it a lot, things get damaged, something goes wrong in a move - the customer rarely thinks they had anything to do with it....Get the other spouse in the room and you will always hear a different story.
