DO NOT USE BEST MOVERS! THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS!
Joseph flat out LIED to me on the phone saying that my move from California to Idaho would take 1-4 days. Then I asked him on the phone about any additional charges that I might incur the day of the move.
He told me that I should not receive any additional charges unless I decided to use their company's packing materials. So I said, "okay, I just wont use your packing materials! I will just pack everything myself.". After shopping around with different companies all day long, I decided to go with Best Movers and I trusted them. They offered very competetive pricing. Well, let me tell you: THEIR PRICE QUOTES ARE A LIE!
So the movers show up 3 hours late to pick up my things. Whatever. Then the guy informs me that it's going to be an additional $200 for them to take my flat screen TV and large mirror because they have special packing requirements. I said: WTF! Why wasn't I informed of this before? Besides, I told Joseph that I had a flat screen TV and large mirror. You have to tell them all the items you have before they can even give you a quote.
So the mover told me they would not be taking my things then. Of course I panicked! I cannot reschedule my move! I have to be up in Idaho to start my new job by Monday! I am so pissed they did not tell me about their special standards until the day of the move. Especially since I worked in a warehouse and had all the materials availalbe to me to do this "special" packing.
Then I just said F it and took the charge. I told them I would be fighting it later. So then the guy rushes me through all the paperwork (total asshole) and said sign here sign here sign here without me getting a chance to read anything. I had to hurry also bc his guys had already started lifting my things into the truck and I see they weren't being careful. The guys broke several of my wine glasses, scratched my $3000 dresser, and I could hear the contents of my boxes tumbling around like rocks.
So then I had to pay $400 deposit for this shit and come to find out they charged me $35 dollars for using their tape! I didn't even ask to use their tape! I had 5 rolls of my own tape sitting on the table and they never used mine. Isn't that fuckin rediculous?
It gets better. So after $400 later of bogus additional charges...I finally get to Idaho and call on my things after the 4 day window had passed. Come to find out in the "contract" that I was hurried and forced to sign on the day of the move says they have 30 days to deliver my things. WTF!
So I call Joseph and scream and yell. He accepts absolutely no responsibility at all. He then referred me to their customer service dept. which was an absolute joke. They are basically 2 teenage girls. Neither of them took sympathy in my situation or responded to my emails/calls. When I would call, the phone would ring and ring. After a month of waiting, I finally got my things 2 days ago.
I WHOEVER READS THIS IS A SMART SHOPPER. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, READ THE FINE PRINT AND YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF PAYING MORE OR GETTING A U-HAUL. THESE GUYS ONLY WANT YOUR $$ AND WILL LIE TO TO YOU UP FRONT JUST TO MAKE A SALE.
