When we were moving for the second time in 3 years we decided to use americas moving services again because they moved us from florida to north dakota 3 years ago and we were very happy with the move. We arranged our pick up with Eric Witterbog and scheduled a pick up for July 23rd or 24th with a STRONG preference on the 23rd and he said it should not be a problem but they still needed the next day for a back-up, fine. The driver called us on the 21st and said he should be at our place on the 23rd between 9am and 12pm, great!!! On the 22nd we confirmed with Brian at americas moving services that our pick-up would be the following morning to early afternoon and that is when he said "let me call the driver and I will call you right back" he did call us back about 20 minutes later and said Mark may be running behind due to his last client not being able to accept delivery on time but Mark would call us soon to let us know. 2 hours later, still no call from Mark so I called again to find out what was going on and Brian said, let me get him on the phone and I will call you right back which he did and then he told us, that Mark may not be arriving until the 24th but he would let us know shortly, we were not happy but understood that there was a 2 day window for this to occur. About an hour later Mark called and said he was sorry but the last customer still was not at their new home and he had to wait until they arrived to offload their belongings and they were not going to arrive until the 24th which would potentially push our pick-up to the 26th which was going to be 2 days late. I then called the office of americas moving services and wanted to speak witha manager to get some answers. Brian transfered me to Howard who was one of the 2 owners who explained everything to us and told us he would get on the phone and try to dispatch another crew to us even though North Dakota was "an extremely hard" state to service especially last minute. We had used them in the past so we decided to wait it out and see what would transpire. Howard contacted us the next morning and said good news, I have a driver who we rescheduled and he could be at our house early the next morning and he would call us shortly. 1 day late we could deal with but we were getting alot of pressure from the realtor and the new homeowners so it was crunch time and we explained how important it was to be out by NO later than the next morning which would be the 25th and he assured us the driver would communicate with us and be at our hous ethe next morning. About 3 hours later our driver Gregory called us and said he had to do a delivery about 350 milles away from us and would head our way but probably would not arrive until about 1pm the following day and that made us very nervous because that was our absolute deadline and we were begininng to lose faith. Gregory called us again at 9pm and said that he arranged for local packers to get to our house at 8am to start packing and he would now arrive at around noon to help pack and load. Next morning at 8 am the packers arrived and started packing and Gregory called us at 9 to say he was about 2 1/2 hours away and he would be at our place earlier than anticipated. He did show up just before noon and as stressful as the first part of the move was, when Gregory showed up with his helper Craig they were 2 of the most polite, hard working and professional movers anyone could ever ask for and we thanked them for heading our way and helping us out. Subsequently, americas moving services did deduct $250.00 off of our final bill which was actually already $300.00 less than the estimate so at the end of the day, we really do appreciate everything that was done for us and after all the issues were controlled and handled, americas moving services definately made right their mistakes.
