I researched many companies and decided to go with America's Moving Services for many reasons. For those not familiar with the moving industry (I was one of those) you will have a local broker office at each location (from & to). The office that you are moving from controls the majority of your shipment. So, if you do not have a good relationship with them or they are not a reputable company, may have problems with your move. My advice, be nice and courteous to everyone that you speak to and see - you are trusting them to take care of your possessions and honey goes a lot further than vinegar. The company in Colorado was Johnson Moving & Storage. Everyone that we met and worked with was so nice. Here is a little about our move: Our kitchen was packed for us, we packed everything else Our move was about 7500 lbs We had a couple of antiques that needed special handling From the time that they assessed our possessions to the time that everything was loaded into the truck, everyone was very helpful - including the driver. When it all arrived in Virginia, we saw the same driver (who called along the way to give us estimates on when he might arrive) and 2 employees from the company in Virginia to help unload. The 2 employees form the company in Virginia did a good job but I will say they were a little rough around the edges. We did not have a single item broken and only a couple of minor scratches, much better then when I have moved myself over the years. Some advice: If you are not really good at packing and padding items really well, I recommend having all breakable items packed by the moving company. They know what they are doing. Overall, it was a great experience and nice to see someone else doing the lifting. :) for many reasons.
