| Review: | I chose America's Moving Services because of the good reviews of them on this site, but I received extremely poor service. America's Moving Services contratcted my move out to another company without telling me, Preferred Relocation, which I later found out is one of the most well known and hated moving scams on the internet. The movers were three hours later than their latest estimated pick-up time. Then they changed the delivery date from two days after pick-up, to five days, and then kept moving it back until I finally got my things at 9 pm on a Friday night TWO WEEKS after they were picked up. Half of my desk was missing, which I still have not gotten back, and the mover demanded an extra $150 upon arrival and literally held my things hostage until I paid. He eventually took $40 after I convinced him that was truly all the cash I had. This was way too much money for extremely poor service and I feel like I and my business that helped pay for the move were cheated and robbed. Overall, a hideous experience. |

| Response: | In response to Whitneys review, she is one of our customers. Preffered relocation is an agent for America's Moving Services and does between 15 and 30 moves per month for us. I have no complaints from clients that are serviced by them. In this case, the customer is unhappy that the delivery took longer than anticipated. Please understand that the move was expedited on a tractor trailer that accomodates up to 30,000 lbs. and this client was estimated at 3500 lbs. which is far less than 1/4 of the trucks capacity with diesel prices between 4.50 and 5.50 per gallon a client can not expect a truck to deliver unless it is nearly full. during peak season there are delays and we do explain to clients that delays may occur. We were not contacted by this client in regards to any complaints and would have loved to recieve a phone call to rectify the situation. |
