| Review: | Since this was the first time I was using a commercial mover instead of doing it myself, I did research on the companies and ended up going with America's Moving Service based on the reviews on the site, however, I was vastly disappointed. They are a broker, which means they will farm out your move to another company XXXyou are at their mercy on who they pick. You could end up getting a poor moving company like I did with Best Price Moving and Storage (please see my review for Best Price as well). I should have been wary from the start XXXthe person I dealt with waited until I agreed to go with the service before going through the huge list of extra fees the moving company could charge. I realize these may be standard fees, but these prices should be conveyed to the customer from the beginning. The price felt like a bait and switch.
In addition, I set my moving dates to be the 19th or 20th. Imagine my surprise when I received a call on the 16th telling me that they would be there the next day. They refused to honor my correct pick-up date. Luckily, most of my belongings were packed. As a broker, America's Moving Service does not have a hard job XXXget the correct pick up date and be up front with the fees charged. They couldn't even manage that. They brokered with a horrible moving service that took 25 days to deliver my things, damaged almost every piece of furniture, and did not assemble or disassemble any of my furniture as they were contracted to do. The boxes looked as if the movers had dropped them multiple times since all of the side walls of the boxes were crushed. There was extensive water damage on many boxes which destroyed books and other personal belongings. They do not do the claim service, you must go through the actual mover.
My recommendation is not to use America's Moving Services because you do not know who you will end up with XXXwhich has resulted in some heartbreak for me. |

| Response: | I have tried to speak with this person via email through this website to no avail. This is not a client of ours nor is it a valid reference # for America's Moving Services and if it is a client of ours I would be happy to discuss the situation with them but first they must respond and at least extend me the courtesy of a valid reference number so I can look into the situation. There is another company based out of Hollywood Florida with a similar name and this could be one of their clients but without a reference number to guide me I have not a clue as to whom they are. |
