We used them to move a piano from a family member's house on Long Island to our Manhattan apartment based on their low bid and claims that they knew how to move a piano.
First, we were told the quoted price was a firm quote and that the only additional amounts owed would be for gratuities. Then they showed up and said we owed them for tolls, even though (1) they said originally we wouldn't have to pay tolls, and (2) there is a route they could have taken that doesn't have any tolls. Yet they not only took the toll route, but made a stop at their warehouse in the Bronx to pick up an extra worker, requiring double the tolls.
Next, when they arrived (three hours later than promised, due to the Bronx detour) they would not unload the truck until we paid in cash, when they had charged our deposit to a credit card without any problem and never mentioned that the balance was due in cash.
Then, despite the Bronx detour, they still showed up without enough guys to lift the piano up the two flights of stairs to our apartment (which they knew about months in advance). They threatened to leave the piano on the street unless I helped them get it up the stairs, so I ended up helping--not what we paid for.
Finally, we ended up lifting it up one step at a time, nearly dropping it twice. I later learned that experienced piano movers use a piano board to move pianos up and down stairs rather than lifting them, and apparently these guys had no idea what they were doing.
Stay away. The headaches aren't worth the slightly cheaper price compared to other repuatable companies.
