Lehigh Moving managed to get our business by coming up with one of the most competitive bids ($88/hr for three men + truck). We had a reservation about 4 weeks before the move, and called them back to confirm and re-confirm practically every week. They called us themselves 48 hours before the move to re-confirm.
Their truck was supposed to be at our place between 9 and 10 am (on 6/30). It was 10:15; I hadn't heard from them, and there was no truck. I called them, and the dispatcher told me "We have a problem, right now I don't have a driver to do the pickup. We would love to have your business, but right now we just cannot do the pickup". I wanted to talk to the sales guy, Allen, who had sold me the move. The dispatcher made it clear that Alen was only the sales guy and he could do nothing about it, and flatly refused to even transfer me to Allen. ... So were were stranded, all our goods packed up, with our condo complex waiting for us to honor our move-out notice. I finally managed to get hold of the salesperson. He appeared to be making an honest effort, and even said that he was arranging for a truck (it was about 3 pm then). But ultimately, no truck showed up, and the dispatcher continued to lie every time I called them ("what exit are you at"? "The truck is on its way").
Every other mover we called said that they were fully booked at least past July 6th. Fortunately we found another local mover who could move us on the second shift, but at $166/hr (almost twice!). We paid happily and learned a lesson. I wish we could teach one to Lehigh.
