I found these movers on Craigslist and called one of their references who gave them a decent review. Their prices were reasonable and so I decided to go with them. Jane quoted me $70/hr for 3 men and 30 minutes driving time. Two hours minimum and after you are charged in 15 minute increments. I was told this verbally as well as by email confirmation. I was a bit concerned about their customer service (one time when I called, it sounded like I woke Jane up!!) Needless to say, I called back several times to make sure they had the information all correct. several times they I found that they did not. Anyway, on the day of the move, the movers were prompt but I was struck by how scruffy and unprofessional they were (inappropriate chatter and questioning) Some of Their blankets for wrapping were filthy. The leader of the trio, Kevin pulled out papers for me to sign and initial. I was tired, I just did what he asked. Later he told me it would be a 3 hour job. The move went poorly with the gangleader Kevin taking it upon himself to operate the freight elevator (in the new bldg) which he was not supposed to do. Then before moving anything into the new space he told me I would be charged $265 (by now we were only 2 hours into the move). He told me he could not move anything off the truck until they have collected the money. I challenged him to unload the truck but he proceeded to harrass me and insist that he would hold onto my remaining items until they get their money. He was threatening, used intimidation, at one time when he saw I was not afraid , he threatened to call the cops. When I said I will call his boss he said, I was going to cause him to lose his job. when I called his boss Robert, he was no better. He told me there was a 3 hour minimum plus an additional charge 1 hour travel time and then he hung up on me! I decided to give them the money they demanded because it wasn't worth the stress and it was late. The move was done by 7:30, 2 and a half hours total which was supposed to cost $210 including the 30min travel time. After all that, they damaged by coat rack during the move. These guys are crooks, unprofessional and scary. I urge every not to use them. I intend to file a complaint with the BBB.
